Gee explained that he is not the Mayor or a Councilman, however, he will <br />stand with the citizens of Louisville and invited Council to stand with him. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mayer stated that Council recently discussed the cost of Eco-passes. He encouraged <br />Council to discuss this program in greater detail at a future work session. He explained <br />that when judged against the cost of providing additional parking, it could be very cost <br />effective. <br /> <br />Howard asked for clarification that the Eco-passes were for City of Louisville employees <br />and whether Mayer had any information on the general cost. <br /> <br />Mayer replied, yes. He stated that he thought the cost to the City was $2,500 for the first <br />year and felt that it would be worthwhile to review. He suggested that the City consider a <br />trial period to determine how many employees would participate. <br /> <br />Sisk asked to address the comments made earlier about the prairie at South Boulder Road <br />and McCaslin. He stated that he recently received a call from Carol Shields, expressing <br />her concerns, and he invited her to attend tonight's meeting to voice her concerns. He <br />stated that the issue is important and cautioned against wandering into the open space and <br />destroying plant habitat that could not be restored. He urged his fellow Council members <br />to act very cautiously in making any decisions on the matter. He expressed support for <br />delaying the project. <br /> <br />Levihn agreed with Sisk. <br /> <br />Howard agreed with Sisk and Levihn. He asked whether contracts could be placed on <br />hold in order to allow Council to review the issue. He explained that tonight is the first <br />time that he has heard about the issue and requested that Council receive further <br />information before making any decisions. <br /> <br />Davidson agreed and stated that he was first made aware of the issue at 3 p.m. today. He <br />assured the citizens that the issue would receive serious consideration and review. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION - NATIONAL HOME CARE MONTH, NOVEMBER 1999 <br /> <br />Davidson proclaimed November 1999 as National Home Care Month and presented the <br />proclamation to Allesandra, registered nurse with Centura Home Care. <br /> <br /> <br />
