SIMMONS <br /> CITY MANAGER <br />DATE: March 16, 2004 <br />SUBJECT: Resolution No" 15, Series 2004 - A RESOLUTION AMENDING <br /> MEMBERSHIP OF THE lOUISVlllE HORTICULTURE AND <br /> FORESTRY ADVISORY BOARD <br />ORIGINATING DEPARTMENT: Cilty Council <br />SUMMARY: <br />The Horticulture and Forestry Advisory Board (HFAB), formerly known as the tree board, has <br />previously had a membership of seven regular members. The City Code (Sec. 14.20.045.) <br />also allows for the appointment of one "associate" member, stating that: <br /> In the event that any regular member of the tree board is temporarily unable to act <br /> owing to absence from the city, illness, interest in a matter before the city tree board, or <br /> any other cause, the absent member's place may be taken during such time by the <br /> associate member who shalllhave all the powers of a regular member while serving in <br /> the place of a regular member. <br />The City Council has expressed a desire to have eight regular members and one alternate, or <br />associate member. Currently, there are five regular members appointed to HFAB. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve Resolution No. 15, Series 2004 - A RESOLUTION AMENDING MEMBERSHIP OF <br />THE LOUISVILLE HORTICULTURE.
