<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1451 <br />SERIES 2004 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROHIBIT <br />PARKING OF UNREGISTERED VEHICLES ON PUBLIC STREETS AND <br />ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the Louisville Home Rule Charter and state law, including but <br />not limited to C.R.S. g31-15-40 1 et seq., the City is authorized to pass and enforce all necessary <br />police power ordinances, and to make regulations which may be necessary for the promotion of <br />the public health, safety and general welfare; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enact additional prohibitions on the parking of <br />umegistered vehicles on public streets and right-of-way, and establish penalties for violations <br />thereof. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1. The title of Chapter 10.20 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended as follows (words added are underlined; words deleted are stricken through): <br /> <br />Chapter 10.20 <br /> <br />OVERSIZED VEHICLE PARKING <br /> <br />Section 2. Chapter 10.20 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended by the <br />addition of a new section 10.20.070 to read as follows (words added are underlined; words <br />deleted are stricken through): <br /> <br />Sec. 10.20.070 <br /> <br />Unre2istered Vehicles <br /> <br />A. . No person shall park, abandon or otherwise leave unattended on <br />any public street or right-of-way any umegistered vehicle or vehicle with an <br />expired registration. For purposes of this Section 10.20.070, an "umegistered <br />vehicle" is a vehicle for which there is no current or prior certification of <br />registration by the current owner. <br /> <br />B. Any violation of this section shall be subiect to punishment by fine <br />only as follows: <br /> <br />1. Registration expired between 31-60 days prior to citation, $25.00. <br /> <br />2. Registration expired between 61-90 days prior to citation, $100.00. <br /> <br />3. Registration expired more than 91 days prior to citation, $500.00. <br /> <br />1 <br />
