ORDINANCE NO. 1451 SERIES 2004 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROHIBIT PARKING OF UNREGISTERED VEHICLES ON PUBLIC STREETS AND ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF. WHEREAS, pursuant to the Louisville Home Rule Charter and state law, including but not limited to C.R.S. g31-15-40 1 et seq., the City is authorized to pass and enforce all necessary police power ordinances, and to make regulations which may be necessary for the promotion of the public health, safety and general welfare; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enact additional prohibitions on the parking of umegistered vehicles on public streets and right-of-way, and establish penalties for violations thereof. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section 1. The title of Chapter 10.20 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended as follows (words added are underlined; words deleted are stricken through): Chapter 10.20 OVERSIZED VEHICLE PARKING Section 2. Chapter 10.20 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended by the addition of a new section 10.20.070 to read as follows (words added are underlined; words deleted are stricken through): Sec. 10.20.070 Unre2istered Vehicles A. . No person shall park, abandon or otherwise leave unattended on any public street or right-of-way any umegistered vehicle or vehicle with an expired registration. For purposes of this Section 10.20.070, an "umegistered vehicle" is a vehicle for which there is no current or prior certification of registration by the current owner. B. Any violation of this section shall be subiect to punishment by fine only as follows: 1. Registration expired between 31-60 days prior to citation, $25.00. 2. Registration expired between 61-90 days prior to citation, $100.00. 3. Registration expired more than 91 days prior to citation, $500.00. 1
