Rev 1: July 8 2011
Interim Results from Best -of -Breed Survey
1. Disclaimer
This information was compiled from data provided by the management of 7 of the local courses,
including Coal Creek, and I have made efforts to ensure that it is compiled correctly. However, errors of
transposition and interpretation may have crept in and these are my responsibility. I will make
corrections to any discovered inaccuracies. Data from Coal Creek is provided for only the 9 months of
2010 for which the course was under the management of Western Golf Properties and this will affect
some statistics such as number of rounds played.
2. Process and Summary
A template based on what we reviewed at the March Board Meeting was sent to eight local golf courses,
including Coal Creek of which seven responded. Thanks to the course managers who patiently worked
with me as I collected the data.
Further close review is needed on the data collected before it we can assume they are reliable but initial
analysis shows that Coal Creek lies in the middle of the pack of local courses.
3. Number of Rounds and Trend.
1 highest number of rounds
This shows that Coal Creek has an opportunity to increase number of rounds played. Hyland Hills
numbers may be low since they offer a 9 -hole "full" course as well as 2 9 -hole par 3 courses which may
draw some numbers from their 18 -hole championship course. The year -to -year trend is hard to
interpret other than to say it looks largely flat. Local weather conditions will also influence the number
of days the course is open.
Number of Rounds
Trend
Ranking
Note
Coal Creek
31,578
Flat
5
Legacy Ridge
29,880
1.40%
6
Marianna Butte
34,075
-6.00%
4
Flatirons
39,243
11.00%
2
Hyland Hills
29,746
7.00%
7
18 -hole only
Indian Peaks
36,500
-8.00%
3
Broadlands
40,300
+0.4%
1
Rev 1: July 8 2011
Interim Results from Best -of -Breed Survey
1.
