Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 20, 2011 <br />Page 5of 6 <br />Update/Discussion/Action –Grant Program –Maximum allowances <br />Includes a Grant Spreadsheet of recent grant expenditures <br />Roundtable on lessons learned in the past year of the landmark program <br />Russ reviewed the request from the City Manager and the Mayor regarding how to prioritize <br />how the monies should be allocated and how to invest the monies available for the Grant <br />Program fund. <br />Koertje asked about an on-call engineer. <br />Russ stated an on-call structural engineer has been identified but no formal action has <br />been taken to proceed. Before action is taken the HPC needs to decide how to manage <br />their expectations. <br />Russ asked if the HPC wants to have a small group to make a recommendation to this <br />board or have a study session of the entire HPC. <br />Stewart stated no matter what format is used the preparation for the topic is important. <br />Koertje stated a special meeting to discuss this item would be better than trying to add it to <br />the regular meeting agenda. <br />Poppitz asked if thereis any way for Louisville to consult with Boulder County for <br />information on some of their specific programs. <br />Russ asked if they had a specific date recommendation or how do they want to proceed. <br />th <br />Stewart suggested sometime after the July 18meeting. <br />Russ asked about an August or September special meeting. <br />Koertje suggesteda separate meeting on aSaturday meeting. <br />Russ does not support a Saturday meeting for the Planning Staff. <br />st <br />Stewart stated an earlier evening meeting the 1week of August at 6:00 PM. <br />Russ stated staff will review staff scheduled and propose some early August dates. <br />Update/Discussion/Action –Austin Niehoff HSA <br />Stewart asked for staff information. <br />Russ stated a structure engineer had been working with the Public Works Department. <br />He does not know the end result of the discussion with McCartney and the Public Works <br />department regarding this project. <br />Stewart suggested an application to the state might enable the owner to obtain a $10-15 <br />K grant. Then, there might be additional funds available from the state for other projects <br />at the site. The only requirement would be for the owner to agree to the application. <br />Russ stated the only questions we would want to understand further would be what are <br />the restrictions come with the grant. <br />Stewart stated they must meet the state guidelines and format. <br /> <br />
