Golf Course Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br /> 7-18-2011 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Project Goals - <br />2.The goals of the proposed renovations are to reorient the <br />interior of the clubhouse to improve traffic flow, utilization, and improve <br />efficiency of overall business operations including pro shop, dining, and <br />kitchen work. <br />Item VII – Board discussion on club house architect proposal <br />Discussion <br />1.– Centered around various recommendations, including <br />moving pro shop to west side of building, a variety of options re: the <br />orientation, size and shape of the kitchen, loading/unloading/delivery <br />access, trash pickup location, and ADA compliance. Also discussed was <br />the potential of expanding and upgrading the kitchen to support a more <br />extensive menu and the potential for Friday and Saturday night business. <br />Most felt that maintaining a successful restaurant of that nature was <br />unlikely. <br />Cost <br />2.– According to Mr. Van Sambeek, the total cost of the renovations <br />discussed would cost about $300,000. After some discussion, it was <br />agreed that cost could go up considerably depending on the finish <br />materials. <br />Motion <br />3.– The Golf Course Advisory moved to direct Western Golf <br />Properties to work with Lodestone Design Group to maximize clubhouse <br />operating efficiencies within the footprint of the schematic presented and <br />in concert with the overall vision and goals for the intended usage. Perry <br />Nelson moved. Rob Lathrop seconded. Motion passed 6-0. <br />Review process <br />4. – Ken Gambon and Rob Lathrop agreed to review the <br />updated plans on or around August 8, 2011, and, pending their approval, <br />to forward the plans to the GCAB board for a final vote. <br />Item VIII – RFP process on golf course improvement plan <br />Overview - <br />1.Joe Stevens stated that a meeting was scheduled for July 21, <br />2011 for all RFP finalists to present to a committee of various city officials, <br />including two members of the GCAB. The goal for the meeting was for the <br />committee to make a recommendation of the top selection by the close of <br />the meeting. Joe would then take the committee’s recommendation to <br />City Council in early August. <br />Item IX – Fairway Suites update and plans/schedule <br />Update <br />1.–According to Joe Stevens, the City had not heard from Fairway <br />Suites and, therefore, he had no update. Joe did mention that the City <br />was in information gathering mode. <br />Item X – Course activities/actions since last meeting and planned through <br />August <br />Golf course condition <br />1. - Eric Jensen provided an update on bunker <br />maintenance, saying the all greenside bunkers were in good shape and <br /> <br />
