ORDINANCE NO. 1440 SERIES 2004 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.64.020 OF THE LOUISVILLE CODE REGARDING THE LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES. WHEREAS, by Resolution No.3, 2004, the City Council determined to increase the number of members of the public library Board of Tmstees, as there is an increased number of residents wishing to participate on the Board; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the Louisville Municipal Code to reflect the increased membership of the Board. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section 1. Section 2.64.020 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows (words to be added are underlined; words to be deleted are stricken through): 2.64.020 Board of trustees - Appointment. The mayor, with the consent of the city council, shall appoint a board of trustees to manage and control the public library of the city. The board of tmstees shall consist of seven ffi.e residents of the city. A-tImstee~ shall be appointed annually to serve for five years. Vacancies shall be filled for unexpired terms as soon as possible by the mayor, with the consent of the city council. The board of tmstees shall not receive any salary or other compensation for services as tmstees, but the necessary travel and subsistence expenses shall be paid from the library fund. Section 2. If any portion of this ordinance is held to be invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have passed this ordinance and each part hereof irrespective of the fact that anyone part be declared invalid. Section 3. All other ordinances or portions thereof inconsistent or conflicting with this ordinance or any portion hereof are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency or conflict.
