<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1440 <br />SERIES 2004 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.64.020 OF THE LOUISVILLE CODE <br />REGARDING THE LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution No.3, 2004, the City Council determined to increase the <br />number of members of the public library Board of Tmstees, as there is an increased number of <br />residents wishing to participate on the Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the Louisville Municipal Code to reflect <br />the increased membership of the Board. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1. Section 2.64.020 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to <br />read as follows (words to be added are underlined; words to be deleted are stricken through): <br /> <br />2.64.020 <br /> <br />Board of trustees - Appointment. <br /> <br />The mayor, with the consent of the city council, shall appoint a board of trustees <br />to manage and control the public library of the city. The board of tmstees shall <br />consist of seven ffi.e residents of the city. A-tImstee~ shall be appointed annually <br />to serve for five years. Vacancies shall be filled for unexpired terms as soon as <br />possible by the mayor, with the consent of the city council. The board of tmstees <br />shall not receive any salary or other compensation for services as tmstees, but the <br />necessary travel and subsistence expenses shall be paid from the library fund. <br /> <br />Section 2. If any portion of this ordinance is held to be invalid for any reason, such <br />decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The City Council <br />hereby declares that it would have passed this ordinance and each part hereof irrespective of the fact <br />that anyone part be declared invalid. <br /> <br />Section 3. All other ordinances or portions thereof inconsistent or conflicting with this <br />ordinance or any portion hereof are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency or conflict. <br /> <br />INTRODUCED, READ, PASSED ON FIRST READING, AND ORDERED <br />PUBLISHED this 3rd day of Febmary, 2004. <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br />
