<br /> <br />City Council <br /> <br />Study Session Meeting <br /> <br />Summary <br />April 24, 2007 <br />Louisville Public Library <br />951 Spruce Street <br />1st Floor Meeting Room <br />7:00 PM <br /> <br />Call to Order - Mayor Charles Sisk called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />City Council Present: Mayor Charles Sisk <br />Mayor Pro Tem Don Brown <br />Sheri Marsella <br />Bob Muckle <br />Ron Sackett <br />Frost Yarnell <br /> <br />City Council Absent: Dave Clabots <br /> <br />Staff: Heather Balser, Interim City Manager <br />Patty Leslie, Finance Director <br />Meredyth Muth, Community Facilitator <br /> <br />Becky Hogan, EDge Consulting Services <br />Quarterly Update - Economic Development <br />Hogan presented City Council with the 2007 work plan approved by the Business <br />Retention and Development Committee. She noted that the first quarter goals were all <br />met including the following activities: <br />. Two roundtable discussions were hosted <br />. Business Assistance Program launched <br />. Retention efforts under way <br />. Marketing of Louisville to the business/brokers/development community <br /> <br />Hogan noted that the City still needs to determine its direction and policy regarding <br />development. She added that the City Council has stated that its wants quality <br />development in Louisville, but are not sure how to work with developers to make that <br />happen. Hogan noted that the City Council does not appear to have a clear vision for <br />Louisville on which all Council members agree. She added that without an identifiable <br />vision staff is left without direction and therefore cannot work clearly with the <br />development community.
