Horticultural & Forestry Advisory Board
Minutes
DATE
and it was decided that we would try and schedule it for late summer or early fall.
Chris felt that this needs to be a community effort versus that of just a few
individuals in order to be effective. The issue was tabled until May's meeting.

Arboretum - update on the completion of the 501) (3) by the City attorney. There
is no change.

a) The street signs on Via Appia identifying the location of the Arboretum
are up! YEAH! Thanks Chris.
b) May's HFAB meeting will be held at the Arboretum so that we can weed
the Demonstration Gardens while we meet. The south end of the larger
berm is in serious need of some weeding. The meeting will start at 6:00
p.m. rather than 6:30 so as to give us more daylight to work.

Set procedures for preparing monthly meeting minutes - It was decided that
since we are alternating between members the taking of the minutes each
month that we would set a deadline regarding when the minutes had to be typed
and submitted to Polly. The new deadline is that the minutes need to be typed
and emailed to Polly and Chris one week after the meeting. The question also
was brought up by Theresa as to why other City staff liaisons (i.e. the Building
Department) on Advisory Boards are using their clerical staff to take minutes at
their meetings? Is this an option for us as well? Theresa will investigate this and
report back to HFAB next month.

There is no news on the website to be reported.

Lecture Series - Chris will put a blurb on our website asking for what the interest
level is by the residents and what topics they would like to hear about. We do
not want to go to the trouble of arranging for speakers if the interest in attending
is not there by the public.

Discussion Items for Next Meeting - Not discussed.

Adjourn - The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m. The next meeting will be at
the Arboretum on May 3,2007 at 6:00 p.m.
