<br />d. Proposals that meet standard (c) but do not meet standard (a) require <br />Special Review Use approval. <br /> <br />s. Roof mounted panel antennae. <br /> <br />a. Roof mounted panel antennae are prohibited unless: (1) they can be <br />installed on an existing penthouse structure and will not exceed the <br />height of the penthouse, or (2) they can be screened behind existing <br />screening on the roof, or (3) they can be screened with new screening <br />material that is compatible with existing screening materials on the <br />rooftop and the overall project architecture. No roof mounted panel <br />antennae shall extend more than six feet above the roof parapet. <br />Administrative review is available for applications meeting this and other <br />applicable design requirements. <br /> <br />b. Panel antennae shall be set back from perimeter building walls to <br />minimize the visual exposure of the units from adjacent buildings, <br />property, streets and sidewalks, while allowing adequate signal <br />transmission. <br /> <br />c. Roof mounted panel antennae are not allowed on pitched roofs, except <br />as approved in compliance with the requirements in Section <br />17.42.030.E, pertaining to Alternative Tower Structures. <br /> <br />d. Roof mounted panel antennae shall not exceed the maximum building <br />height in the zoning district. <br /> <br />e. Proposals that meet standard (d) but do not meet standard (a) require <br />Special Review Use approval. <br /> <br />6. Whip antennae. <br /> <br />a. Whip antennae shall not extend more than 10 feet above the building <br />to which they are mounted, or five feet above the maximum building <br />height for the zoning district, whichever is the stricter standard. <br /> <br />b. The base support structure of any roof mounted whip antennae shall <br />be fully screened by an architectural parapet wall. <br /> <br />c. Whip antennae are encouraged to be located on taller buildings or <br />structures, where the visual impact of the antennae is minimized, and the <br />height of the antennae is in better proportion to the height of the <br />building. <br /> <br />d. A Special Review Use application is required for whip antenna(e) not <br />meeting all three of the above requirements. <br /> <br />6 <br />
