Arts & Humanities Council
Agenda
DATE
Page 5 of6

. Peanut Butter Players' facility may never happen, but if it
does, it will be a privately owned dinner theatre space
and likely not easily available to outside interests.
. Dinner theatres don't seem to compete substantially with
small groups (Upstart Crow vs Boulder Dinner Theatre)
. A new arts center will not be free to its users
. Gallery space at the Dairy limited to 12 artists/year-costs
$200 to rent and Dairy collects 35% for sold items in
exchange for reception and one month hanging
. Suggest visits to surrounding facilities such as Lakewood
Cultural Center and Littleton Town Hall which offer
similarities to Louisville
. DBA rep. says they'd like to see an arts center downtown
. Chamber of Commerce rep. would love to see an arts
center downtown and, with DBA, expressed interest in St.
Louis Catholic Church as a possible choice
. DBA rep. says DBA wants to build a parking structure to
avoid paving everything for parking when train comes.
Like to see a hub around the transit stop where amenities
are within walking distance (including Historic
Downtown)
. Storage Tech. location would benefit Flatirons Mall, not
downtown.
. LCC plans to meet with the Louisville Revitalization
Committee on May 14th.
. LAA visitors indicated that they'd need to talk to the
group before expressing the group's needs for an arts
center, but they were excited by the idea of gallery space
that might spur the growth of local studios and galleries.

XIII. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
