ORDINANCE NO. 1263 SERIES 1997 AN ORDINANCE CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR NOVEMBER 4 1997, TO BE CONDUCTED AS A COORDINATED ELECTION, TO REFER ONE OR MORE BALLOT ISSUES TO A VOTE OF THE REGISTERED ELECTORS OF THE CITY, AND ELECTING TO UTILIZE THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE UNIFORM ELECTION CODE OF 1992. WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is in the best interest of the City of Louisville to call a special election for November 4r 1997r to be conducted as a coordinated electionr and refer one or more ballot issues to a vote of the registered electors of the City at such special municipal election. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section 1. A special municipal election is hereby called to be held on November 4, 1997. Section 2. The November 4, 1997, special municipal election shall be conducted as part of a coordinated election. Pursuant to Section 31-10-102.7 of the Colorado Municipal Election Code of 1965r the City will utilize the requirements and procedures of the Uniform Election Code of 1992 in lieu of the Colorado Municipal Election Code of 1965 for the conduct of the special election. Section 3. One or more ballot issues will be referred to the registered electors of the City and appear on the ballot of the City of Louisville special municipal election to be held on November 4r 1997. The wording of the ballot issue(s) shall be provided by resolution of the Louisville City Council prior to any deadline for adoption. Section 4. hereby authorized appropriate action in accordance with The officers and employees of the City are and directed to take all necessary and to effectuate the provisions of this ordinance Colorado law. Section 5. If any portion of this ordinance is held to be invalid for any reasonr such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
