Department of Planning and Building Safety
749 Main Street Louisville CO 80027 303.335.4592 www.LouisvilleCO.gov
MM
EMORANDU
To:
Historic Preservation Commission Members
From:
Planning Division
Subject:
Commercial Incentives
Date: September 19, 2011
At the July 12, 2011 City Council study session, Council directed the Historical
Preservation Commission (HPC) and Staff to move forward with finalizing a
recommendation for additional Commercial Incentives eligible for Historic
Preservation Fund (HPF) funding aimed at further encouraging the preservation
structures in downtown. A copy of the latest draft of the Commercial Incentives
is attached for your review.
There was limited discussion at the study session regarding the specifics of the
commercial incentives. So the question still remains whether the amounts being
proposed are adequate or are they considered too high, or too low? As you
review the attached document keep in mind this incentive, as written, will make a
property owner eligible for an immediate seventy five thousand ($75,000) dollars.
For example, if six (6) properties take advantage of this incentive it would result
in the release of $450,000.
