The contractor met with a design committee from the HPC to determine the design
alternatives for improving the drainage issues caused by the porch and awning while
maintaining the current character of the house. The meeting resulted in the contractor
recommending a steel / corrugated fiberglass awning be constructed to match the
existing awning over the front porch. This design element will match the existing
awning treatment which was added circa 1950 thereby continuing the evolving
architectural details shown on the 100 year old house.
Staff acknowledges the request complies with the Alteration Certificate criteria.
FISCAL IMPACT
If the existing design and invoice is recommended for approval to City Council, there will
be an expenditure of up to $1,826from the Historic Preservation Fund.
The following table depicts the eligible funds remaining in the budgetary year, less the
approved grant amounts:
4
