The 1930s gave us numerous familiar short tales such as <br />Watty Piper's "The Little Engine That Could." Travel to the land of your im- <br />agination —and hear just a little about how these stories reflect upon the <br />times from which they came. Storyteller Susan Marie Frontczak has been bringing <br />history and literature to life across the United States and abroad for over 20 <br />years. <br />Page 2 <br />Sept 6: Library books should be returned to the community room by <br />noon. In the afternoon, new books will be delivered. If there is a special <br />book that you would like the library to bring, let Kris know at 303 -519- <br />Sept. 23: First Day of Autumn! <br />September 14, 7pm: AUTHOR EVENT: Dust Bowl Descent present- <br />ed by Bill Ganzel. Monarch High School Auditorium 329 Campus <br />Drive, Louisville. Bill Ganzel, a photographer and journalist from Lin- <br />coln, Nebraska, went on the road in 1974 to photograph the after- <br />math of the Dust Bowl. Dust Bowl Descent contains Depression -era <br />photos from the Farm Security Administration (FSA) along with Bill's contemporary <br />photographs of many of the same places and people. The photos and oral history <br />interviews give us an idea of what life was like during the Depression and what has <br />happened to these people since then. Hear from him firsthand about his years of <br />experience researching this book. <br />Sept. 17, 6:30 pm: Saturday night social.
