<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 2, 2007 <br />Page 3 of 10 <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk explained the City of Louisville is working with the Town of Superior <br />Board of Trustees relative to an equitable contribution for their residents' usage <br />of the Louisville Public Library. He addressed the S. 88th Street intersection on <br />Campus Drive and noted the City continues to work on solutions to alleviate the <br />traffic congestion. <br /> <br />Council member Muckle wished all the residents a Happy New Year. He thanked <br />Tom Phare and the Public Works Department for the snow removal on the City <br />streets and the Louisville citi2:ens who have helped others during difficult times. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk reported riding along with a snowplow operator on December 29. <br />The City crews worked 12-hour shifts to clear the main arterials and <br />neighborhood streets. He praised their professionalism and dedicated hard work. <br />He requested the Council meet with the Public Works Director and work crew <br />members at a future Council meeting to discuss budget considerations for <br />equipment and facilities. He requested the meeting be scheduled as part of a <br />regular City Council meeting so the Louisville citizens can be involved. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Brown also rode along with a snowplow operator during the <br />snow storm and commended the Public Works Department. He looked forward <br />to future discussions with the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />IREGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 59, SERIES 2006 - A RESOLUTION RELATING TO <br />URBAN RENEWAL ANID IMPLEMENTATION OF THE HIGHWAY 42 <br />REVITALIZATION URBAN RENEWAL PLAN - (CONTINUED FROM 12/5/06) <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a presl~ntation on Resolution No. 59, Series 2006. <br /> <br />Council member Muckle stated he drafted the resolution in response to all the <br />controversy over the Urban Renewal Authority and the urban renewal plan. He <br />noted Sections 4 & 8 address the fiscal analysis; Sections 1 & 2 address the <br />urban renewal authority and provides voter approval on the transfer of authority <br />to the City Council; Sections :3,6 & 7 address common concerns voiced by <br />citizens about priorities, eminent domain, and impacts of FasTracks, and Section <br />5 requests the Urban Renewal Authority meet at a time more convenient for <br />citizen involvement. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />Don Atwood, 298 S. Taft Court, Louisville, CO stated Resolution No. 59, Series <br />2006 was drafted in response to citizen concerns. He noted the goal of the <br />resolution is to address the plUblic perception of the City. <br />
