<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 1, 2007 <br />Page 5 of 9 <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff prBsentation. <br /> <br />Finance Director Leslie explained Resolution No. 25, Series 2007 would approve <br />amending the 2007 budget by increasing appropriations in the General and Capital <br />Projects Fund for additional spending requests. <br /> <br />Capital Projects: The Land Management Department requested an additional $41,500 <br />for expenditures to complete issues at the community park. The Finance Department <br />requested $40,000 to purchase an additional module of the Innoprise Integrated <br />Financial System. A Planning & Zoning module for the Community Development <br />segment would enable them to link directly with Permitting Inspections and Licensing <br />segment. Innoprise will provide the City of Louisville with a Demo Site Discount of <br />$25,000 bringing the price of the Planning and Zoning module to $40,000. <br /> <br />General Fund: The City of Louisville received a check from the Town of Superior for <br />$75,000 to assist with the operating expenses of the new Library. Staff proposed 60% or <br />$45,000 be used for Library Operations for temporary salary positions needed to operate <br />the Library and pay for Staff to rl3-0pen the Library on Sundays for the remainder of the <br />year beginning in August. The remaining 30% or $30,000 would be used for Library <br />building maintenance and cleaning services. The total increase in appropriations for the <br />General Fund is $75,000. The funds to cover these additional appropriations will come <br />from the 2007 unreserved and undesignated fund balance. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk reported the FinancEl Committee supported the Supplementary Budget <br />Appropriation. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Marsella moved to approve Resolution No. 25, Series 2007, <br />seconded by Council member Sackett. Roll call vote was taken. The motion passed by <br />a vote of 7-0. <br /> <br />SHOP lOUISVlllE CAMPAIGN OPTIONS <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a presentation on the Shop Louisville Campaign Options. <br /> <br />Community Facilitator Muth expllained one of the business development goals of the <br />Business Retention & Development Committee (BRaD) is a Shop Louisville campaign to <br />help educate residents about the importance of shopping locally and to help address the <br />decline of sales tax revenue. The following options were considered. <br /> <br />Shop Louisville Gift Card Progmm: The program allows anyone to purchase a gift card <br />redeemable at a participating Louisville business. It would create support for local <br />businesses with a $30,000 commitment from the City. One option would be to continue <br />with the gift card program if the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Business <br />Association were able to commit funds to help offset the costs to the City. <br /> <br />Shop Louisville Marketing Campaign: This program is a new branding campaign which <br />includes a new specific Shop Louisville logo, posters, t-shirts, a presence at special <br />events as staff and BRaD's timE~ allows (Taste of Louisville, Street Faire, July 4th, and <br />
