City Council Study Session Meeting Summary July 10, 2007 Louisville Public Library Meeting Room 951 Spruce Street 7:00 PM 1. Call to Order - Mayor Charles Sisk called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. City Council: Mayor Charles Sisk Dave Clabots Sheri Marsella Bob Muckle Frost Yarnell Absent: Mayor Pro Tem Don Brown Ron Sackett Staff Present: Heather Balser, Interim City Manager Anne Mojo, Library Director Scott Robson, Land Management Director Alan Miller, Acting Finance Director Kathy Kelly, Library Karen Freiter, Library Debbie Borelli, City Manager's Office 2. Presentation - Library Public Art Purchases - Anne Mojo The Library Art Committee, including Anne Mojo, Kathy Kelly, Karen Freiter, Paul Wember, and Mary O'Donnell presented to City Council various examples of work from the artists chosen to provide artwork in the library and explained where each artist's work would be located in the library. Local Artist Linda Armantrout described her artwork that had been chosen for the library. Ms. Armantrout also expressed appreciation to the Art Committee for choosing artists primarily from Louisville and Boulder County. The Mayor discussed the possibility of a composite of all the artists be compiled to introduce each artist and why they were chosen by the Art Committee. The Mayor inquired if the names of the basketball players and baseball players in the historical pictures could be identified and become a part of the display. Council member Muckle commented that plaques for each piece with a brief description of the piece and the artist name would be a good idea. The timeline, with the exception of the art commissioned for the Grand Stairway, is the end of October.
