Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 9, 2011 <br />Page 4 of 11 <br />McCartney stated the structures approved through the Temporary Use permit are <br />temporary but the structures approved through the SRU will be considered <br />permanent. <br />Lipton asked how long of a lease the applicant has with the City for the subject <br />property. <br />McCartney stated the applicant would need to answer the question. <br />Brauneis asked if other projects had required a Flood Plain Development permit. <br />McCartney stated the Empire Self Storage was required to complete a Flood <br />Plain Development permit, as well as the Parbois Place Subdivision. <br />Brauneis asked if the roofing material would include some type of clear or <br />colored plastic material to allow natural light into the booth. <br />McCartney requested the applicant address the question during his presentation. <br />Pritchard asked if the upholstery business is still located in the rear (west side) of <br />the building and if so, how does this affect the parking requirements for the site. <br />McCartney stated the upholstery business is still operating on the west side of <br />the building. The parking calculations were completed and the required number <br />of spaces is available on the west side at the alley. <br />Lipton asked if there should be a vegetation height limitation added to the list of <br />conditions. He also asked about the availability of restrooms. <br />McCartney stated the Louisville Municipal Code restricts vegetation height in the <br />vision clearance therefore a condition is not required. He also stated the <br />applicant should answer the question regarding the availability of restrooms. <br />Applicant Presentation: <br />Karim Amirfatte, 7150 South Boulder Road, stated he is a local farmer and <br />produces organic agricultural products. His goal for the market is to provide the <br />best quality product to the market and to also provide things not found elsewhere <br />in Louisville. He presented a sample board and pictures of the property. <br />Loo moved and Pritchard seconded a motion to enter the items into the public <br />record. Motion passed unanimously by voice vote. <br />Amirfatte continued by stating he would also like to have the site serve as an <br />educational source to the community. <br />Commission questions of Applicant: <br />Lipton asked if there is a restroom available to the public. <br />Amirfatte stated there is a restroom in the main building on site and it is available <br />to the public during business hours. <br />Brauneis asked what type of flooring would be used in the proposed structures. <br />Amirfatte stated they would be wood. He continued by saying the goal is to be <br />able to assemble and/or disassemble a building in one-hour. <br />
