~ <br /> <br /> <br />~ÉÁ0ÈÊÉÉ <br />ÇÇ <br />After discussion, the Board voted 3-2 in favor of revising the policy, as follows: <br />In favor: <br />Sandy Pennington, Jeannie Schuman, and Meredith Davis <br />Opposed: <br />Alicia Mahoney and Eileen Patrick <br />Beth and Karen will work on policy revisions to present for the Board’s consideration <br />at the next regular meeting on July 14. <br />B.City Council Study Session on June 14, 6:00 pm <br />Jeannie and Alicia will prepare and present a summary report for this annual session on the <br />Board’s accomplishments over the past year. <br />IX.Director’s Report <br />A.Statistics <br />Monthly Use Measures for April were distributed, and Beth noted the continuing trend of <br />rising circulation, both YTD and for the month. <br />B.Upcoming Events <br />1)May & June calendars <br />Copies of the library event calendars were distributed. Beth highlighted the press <br />conference for the book title announcement for On The Same Page, which will be <br />held at 6pm on June 8 at the Harney-Lastoka Open Space. <br />2)Summer Reading <br />The program begins on June 1, and Beth noted that online registration will be <br />available for the first time. Online registration begins on May 25. There are different <br />themes for the children’s, teen, and adult programs. Many local businesses have <br />again contributed prizes. <br />3)STAR_Net (Space Science Institute) <br />Beth has been working with the Space Science Institute (SSI) on a project for libraries <br />comprising portable exhibits on weather and climate. Louisville worked with SSI on <br />another exhibit project in 2009, and they have again selected us as a beta test site <br />for their new program. The exhibit is scheduled for installation at the end of October <br />and will remain through November.
