Historical Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 21, 2011 <br />Louisville Public Library Meeting Room <br /> 951 Spruce Street <br />6:30 p.m. <br />I. Call to Order <br />: Commission Chair Dan Mellish called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Commission Members Present <br />: Dan Mellish. Dave Ferguson, Pat Seader, Sally Burlingame, <br />Anne Robinson, Sean Moynihan, Lynn Koglin, Brian Chamberlin, Jennifer Strand. <br />Commission Members Absent: <br /> Diane Marino <br />City Representatives Present: <br />Beth Barrett, Directory of Library & Museum Services <br />Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator <br />Members of the Public Present: <br /> Jean Morgan <br />III. Approval of Agenda: <br /> Members approved the agenda. <br />IV. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda: <br /> Jean Morgan requested that the <br />Commission discuss the City’s antique safe at an upcoming meeting. She explained that it <br />used to be at City Hall, before that building was remodeled, and she stated that she recently <br />went over to City Shops on Empire Road and viewed it. She suggested that it be restored and <br />placed back into public view and expressed concern that it might become damaged. Chair Dan <br />Mellish stated that he would support the Commission having a discussion about the safe. <br />V. Meeting as Advisory Board for the City of Louisville <br />A. Approval of July 2011 and August 2011 Meeting Minutes: <br /> Members approved the <br />minutes. <br />B. Report from the Director of Library and Museum Services: <br /> Beth Barrett reported that <br />the new City sign for the Museum is coming, but there is no specific date projected at this <br />time. The City has recently completed significant maintenance upgrades including weather <br />treating the roof shingles on the four buildings, moving water pipes to protect them from <br />freezing, remodeling the bathroom, and replacing the back door in the Jacoe Store. On <br />The Same Page events continue and have been well attended. Bridget Bacon has a new <br />exhibit in the lobby of the Library about Louisville during the Depression. <br />C. Museum Coordinator’s Report: <br /> <br />Approval of Deeds of Gifts from donors <br />1..
