Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 15, 2011 <br />Page 7 of 9 <br /> <br />Mike Koertje Yes <br />Heather Lewis Yes <br />Jessica Fasick Yes <br />Florian Speier Yes <br />Peter Stewart recused <br />Laurel Tofte Yes <br />Steve Poppitz Yes <br />Motion passed: 6 to 0 <br /> <br />Stewart re-entered the room. <br /> <br />Discussion/Action – Commercial Incentives – next steps <br />Stewart inquired what to do next. <br />Koertje stated we should put this item on the next HPC agenda and invite BRaD, LRC, and <br />DBA. <br />Poppitz asked if Jacque Blanchard (Rex Theater) should be invited to speak about the benefits <br />of the program. <br />Koertje liked the idea. <br />McCartney presented the financial plan to show how Commercial Incentives could last the <br />length of the HPF. <br />Lewis mentioned her appreciation for staff’s work. <br />Tofte asked about matching funds. <br />Koertje stated if matching funds were recommended the HPC would need to run the request <br />by Council first. <br />Lewis recommended to table the discussion regarding matching funds. <br />Stewart recommended the HPC send out the letter to the commercial property owners <br />regarding the commercial incentives. <br />Koertje offered to revise the letter prior to it being sent out. He will work with staff. <br />Discussion – Demo Code Revisions <br />McCartney presented the packet material. <br />Koertje stated the demolition application should be specific to the applicant and not the <br />property. <br /> <br />
