City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />August 23, 2011 <br />Page 5of 5 <br />Mayor Sisk encouraged staff to carry forward this discussion for a future meeting. <br />He felt there needed to be more discussion about the permit running with the <br />applicant and not the property. Councilor Muckle supported the permit running <br />with the applicant since he recalled one bad experience from the past. <br />City Manager’s Report <br />City Manager Fleming reported to Council that he has received all 2012 budget <br />requests from his staff and included in the budget requests are a total of nine <br />new positions.Malcolmwill need to work with the departments to reduce what is <br />currently being requested and to come up with a recommended budget to <br />present to Council. <br />City Manager Fleming reviewed the City Council Advanced Agenda. The <br />th <br />McCaslin/Washington Crossing is planned for the September 6Council as a <br />Discussion/Direction/Action item. Mayor Sisk saidthat he doesn’t want to pre- <br />judge the budget process and does not want to create unreasonable <br />expectations for the public on the McCaslin/Washington crossing.Planning <br />Director Russ said he has an emaildistribution list of residents who have been <br />involved in the public process (some of which were in attendance tonight) and he <br />will email them to make it clear how the approval process will work. <br />Meeting adjourned at9:20 p.m. –Next Study Session will beheld on September <br />13, 2011. <br />
