Davidson stated that he felt the exemption for professional practices should be reinstated.

Mayer stated that he thought that tracking some professionals such as doctors and
dentists, would be beneficial especially involving PUD requirements. Such a licensing
database would be a resource for planning.

Paul Wood, City Director, stated that through the licensing process, the finance
department forwards those license applications to the planning department. He stated
that he appreciates the opportunity to review the applications for determination of proper
use of zoning. One example given was a certified massage therapist. If they are certified,
they will be treated as a medical office, in terms of zoning restrictions. He stated that the
process insures that professionals are conducting businesses in the right zone. He
concurred with Councilman Mayer that the City has PUD requirements for medical
offices.

There was some discussion relative to other professionals, such as attorneys.

Sam Light, City Attorney, stated that from the City's perspective if a law firm has over a
certain number of employees, it should be treated as an office use rather than a home
based occupation.

Brown noted that home occupation has been added to the ordinance. He asked what is
the significant impact from requiring a twenty-dollar fee from home occupation
businesses.

Finance Director Ray stated that there is not a projected large impact. She also noted that
the adjustment in fee is comparable with other cities business license fees.

Mayer suggested that the matter be continued and reviewed this at a work session.

Mayer moved that Council continue Ordinance No. 1323, Series 2000, to the February
15, 2000 meeting, seconded by Howard. All in favor.

Sisk suggested that the Green River Law be reviewed at the work session.

ORDINANCE NO. 1324, SERIES 2000 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE
VACATION OF RAILROAD EASEMENTS DEDICATED TO THE CITY OF
LOUISVILLE WITHIN COLORADO TECHNOLOGY CENTER, FIRST FILING
- 2nd reading - public hearing (advertised Daily Camera 01/08/00)

Davidson called for City Attorney introduction.
