City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> October 4, 2011 <br /> • Page 3 of 11 <br /> Public Works Director Phare noted the parking plan does not exclude city vehicles from <br /> parking in those spaces during public hours. <br /> COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br /> AGENDA <br /> Mayor Sisk recognized two young boys, members of a Webelos Troop, who were <br /> present to observe municipal government. He noted one of the boys, Logan Pius, was <br /> celebrating his birthday and the Council sang happy birthday to him. <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> City Manager Fleming reported there are two different RTD meetings scheduled for <br /> changes in bus services. On Wednesday, October 5, at 7:00 p.m. there will be a <br /> meeting at the community room at Lydia Morgan to discuss the 228 bus line. RTD's <br /> official meeting will be on Thursday, October 6, at 7:00 p.m. at the Louisville Recreation <br /> Center. He also reported on the City's Public Works Director Recruitment process and <br /> noted the City has received 104 applications. He announced Mayor Sisk will be <br /> honored at an Open House, on Tuesday, November 8, at the Coal Creek Golf Course. <br /> Mayor Sisk reported the Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the State of the City <br /> • luncheon, on Tuesday, October 11 at the Marriott Courtyard. He also reported on a <br /> meeting he attended relative to the merger of Level 3 with Global Crossing and noted <br /> CEO, Jeff Storey is very positive about the merger. <br /> REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> ORDINANCE No. 1592, SERIES 2011 — AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 2 OF <br /> THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADD A NEW CHAPTER 2.50 REGARDING <br /> DISASTER EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS — 2nd Reading — Public Hearing (Staff <br /> Recommendation —Table Ordinance No. 1592, Series 2011) <br /> Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction. <br /> City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1592, Series 2011. <br /> Mayor Sisk requested a staff presentation. <br /> City Manager Fleming requested the City Council table and take no further action on <br /> Ordinance No. 1592, Series 2011. The request was based upon City Council and <br /> citizen comments during the March 1 and April 12 Work Session. This matter will be <br /> revisited in February 2012, and a new ordinance will be brought forward, which will <br /> • remove all provisions of condemnation and establish the power of the Mayor and the <br /> chain of command. <br />
