<br />ORDINANCE NO. 594 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE MINIMUM <br />REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DESIGN OF NEW NON- <br />RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES I AND <br />THE RENOVATION OF ANY NONRESIDENTIAL <br />BUILDING RESULTING IN A 50% INCREASE IN THE <br />REPLACEMENT VALUE OF SAID STRUCTURE; <br />ADOPTING BY REF:ERENCE THERETO THE COLORADO <br />MODEL l~NERGY :E1FFICIENCY CONSTRUCTION AND <br />RENOVATION STAIi.JDARDS FOR NONRESIDENTIAL <br />BUILDINGS OF THE BOARD FOR ENERGY EFFICIENT <br />NONRESIDENTIAL BUILDING STANDARDS WITH THE <br />AMENDMENTS AND DELETIONS THERETO AS SET <br />OUT HEREIN. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, durin9 the 197'7 Session of the Colorado State Legisla- <br /> <br />tion, Senate Bill 432 concerning the establishment of energy efficiency <br /> <br />construction and renovation standrs for nonresidential buildings was <br /> <br />adopted, and I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this legislation directs that the governing body of all <br /> <br />muniCipalities must adopt minimum energy efficiency construction and <br /> <br />renovation standards for nonresidential buildings. <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended <br /> <br />to add Chapter 15.16 and the following sections thereof to Title 15: <br /> <br />15.16.010 Adoption <br /> <br />Pursuant to Chapter 31, Article 16, Colorado Revised Statutes, <br /> <br />1973, as amended, there is hereby adopted as a part of the Louisville <br /> <br />Municipal Code and as the En;ergy Efficiency Construction and Reno- <br /> <br />vation Standards for Nonresidential Buildings of the City of Louisville, <br /> <br />by reference thereto, the Colqrado Model Energy Efficiency Construction <br /> <br />and Renovation Standards For Nonresidential Buildings I published by <br /> <br />the Office of State Planning and Budgeting, 1525 Sherman Street I Suite <br /> <br />617, Denver, Colorado I to have the same force and effect a s if set <br /> <br />forth herein in every particular. The subj ect matter of the adopted <br /> <br />code includes building design standards, standards for energy conser- <br /> <br />vation and standards for reduaing heat loss or gain relative to the <br /> <br />construction or renovation of nonresidential structures. <br />
