<br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE <br />ORDINANCE NO. 491 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO M1END CHAPTER 8 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE BY PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE <br />POLICE CHIEF BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR AND THE OFFICERS <br />APPOINTED BY THE POLICE CHIEF AND CERTAIN OTHER ADMINISTRA- <br />TIVE CHANGES AND REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF <br />THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, <br />COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1: Chapter 8 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Chapter 8 <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />8.1 Department Cr'eated - Control of Officers. <br />8.2 Chief of Police - Duties - Bond. <br /> <br />8.3 Duties of Police Officers. <br /> <br />8.4 Oath and Bond. <br /> <br />8.5 Uniforms. <br /> <br />8.6 Duty of Citizens to Aid. <br />8.1 Department Created - Control of Officers. The city shall have <br />a paid police department consisting of a Chief of Police who shall be <br />appointed by the City Administrator and such number of policemen as in the <br />judgment of the council may be necessary to the peace and good order of <br />the city. The members of the police department shall be appointed by the <br />Chief of Police, shall be subject to the control and orders of the Chief <br /> <br />of Police, and may be removed in accordance with provisions of the per- <br />sonnel policies for city employees as now are or may be adopted by the <br />city council. <br />8.2 Chief of Police - Duties - Bond. The Chief of Police shall be <br /> <br />the head of the police department and shall, in addition to the duties <br />imposed upon all members of the police department, exercise general <br />supervision and control over the work of all members of the department, <br />
