<br />Section 1.5 <br /> <br />Acts by agents. When an act is required by an ordinance, <br />the same being such that it may be done as well by an agent as <br />by the principal, such requirement shall be construed to include <br />all such acts performed by an authorized agent. <br /> <br />Section 1.6 <br /> <br />Prohibited act. include causing and permitting. Whenever <br />in the ordinances of the City of Louisville, any act or omission <br />is made unlawful, it shall include causing, allowing, permitting, <br />aiding, abetting, suffering, or concealing the fact of such <br />act or omission. <br /> <br />Section 1.7 <br /> <br />Computation of ti~. Except when otherwise provided, <br />the time within which an act is required to be done shall be <br />computed by including the first day and the last day, unless <br />the last day is Sunday or a holiday, in which case it shall <br />be excluded. <br /> <br />Section 1.8 <br /> <br />Construction. The provisions of the ordinance of the <br />City of Louisville, and all proceedings under these ordinances <br />are to be construed with a view to effect their objects and to <br />promote justice. <br /> <br />Section 1.9 <br /> <br />Repeal shall not revive any ordinances. The repeal of <br />an ordinance shall not repeal the repealing clause of an <br />ordinance or revive any ordinance which has been repealed <br />thereby. <br /> <br />Section 1.10 <br /> <br />Severability. The provisions of this code are hereby <br />declared to be severable, and if any section, provision, or part <br />thereof shall be held unconstitutional or invalid, the remainder <br />of this code shall continue in full force and effect, it being <br />the legislative intent that this code would have been adopted <br />even if such unconstitutional or invalid matter had not been <br />included therein. It is further declared that if any person <br />or circumstances, is held invalid, the remainder of this code <br />and the applications thereof to other persons shall not be <br />affected thereby. <br /> <br />S'8ction 1.11 <br /> <br />Saving clause. The repeal of any ordinance or part <br />thereof by the adoption of this code shall not affect, deny, <br />abridge, or impair any right, action or cause of action accruing <br />or arising under the ordinance or section so repealed, and such <br />right, action or cause of action may be prosecuted to a final <br />determina tion notwi thsta;r.rding such repeal. No of fense committed <br />and no fine, forfeiture or penalty incurred before any ordinance <br />or part thereof is repealed by this code shall be affected, <br />released or in any way discha.rged by such repeal, but trial, <br />conviction, and punishme;r.rt for any such offense and the recovery <br />of fines, forfeitures and penalties shall be had in all respects <br />as if the repealed provisions had remained in force. <br /> <br />-)- <br />
