PAGE TWO <br />SUBJECT: SALES TAX REPORT FOR THE MONTH ENDED SEPTEMBER 30, 2011 <br />DATE: NOVEMBER 14, 2011 <br />Both the Monthly and Quarterly Revenue by Area and Monthly Revenue by Industry <br />reports include a column indicating the percent of total sales tax revenue attributable to <br />each area or industry. <br />The quarterly sales tax revenue by area report represents the YTD retail health of <br />various sections of the City. This report includes all vendors remitting tax to the City. <br />Sales tax revenue YTD through the 3rd quarter indicates increases in 2011 for Downtown, <br />Pine Street Plaza, Centennial Valley, Highway 42 North, Outside City, Louisville Plaza, <br />Highway 42 South, McCaslin North, and South Suburban areas. Revenues have <br />declined through the 3rd quarter 2011 for South Boulder Road, Residential, CTC, and the <br />Interchange. <br />The quarterly sales tax revenue by industry report reflects the retail health of individual <br />industry sectors YTD. This report includes all vendors remitting tax to the City. <br />Gains through the 3rd quarter 2011 were seen in the following sectors; Wholesale, <br />Automotive, Apparel, Furniture, Food /Beverage, Miscellaneous Retail, Finance /Leasing <br />and Services. Declines through the 3rd quarter 2011 exist for the sectors; Agriculture, <br />Construction, Manufacturing, Telecom /Utilities, Building Materials, General <br />Merchandise, and Grocery. <br />The quarterly Restaurant Revenue report indicates eating and drinking establishments <br />remaining at their highest level in three years. Leading the way are the restaurants in <br />Downtown and McCaslin North areas. <br />The Historical quarterly report indicates that 3rd quarter 2011 has been the strongest 3rd <br />quarter in seven years. <br />11 <br />
