<br />10-5. Gross proceeds from sales to the United States Government; <br /> <br />to the State of Colorado, its departments or institutions, and the political <br /> <br />subdivisions thereof, in their governmental capacities only; and from all <br /> <br />sales to the City and any department thereof. <br /> <br />10-6. Gross proceeds from sales to religious, charitable, and <br /> <br />eleemonsynary corporations, in the conduct of their regular religious, <br /> <br />charitable, and eleemosynary functions and activities. <br /> <br /> <br />10-7. Gross proceeds from sales which the City is prohibited from <br /> <br />taxing under the Constitution or laws of the United States, or the State of <br /> <br /> <br />Colorado, shall be exempt hereunder. <br /> <br />10-8. Gross proceeds from sale and purchase of neat cattle, sheep, <br /> <br />lambs, swine and goats; gross proceeds from all sales and purchases of <br /> <br />mares and stallions for breeding purposes; and gross proceeds from all farm <br /> <br />auction closeout sales shall be exempt from taxation hereunder. <br /> <br />10-9. Gross proceeds from sales and purchase of feed for commercial <br /> <br />feeding of livestodk or poultry, and gross proceeds from all sales and pur- <br /> <br />chases of commercial seeds shall be exempt from taxation hereunder. <br /> <br />10-10. Gross proceeds from sales of all cigarettes. <br /> <br />10-11. Gross proceeds from sales of newspapers and periodical maga- <br /> <br />zines. <br /> <br />10-12. Gross proceeds from the sales of products through vending <br /> <br />machines where the selling price does not exceed fifteen cents ($0.15), such <br /> <br />vending machine operations being licensed under a separate ordinance. <br /> <br />SECTION 11. RETAILER RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT OF TAX. <br /> <br />Every retailer (also herein called "vendor'.') shall be liable and <br /> <br />responsible for the payment of an amount equivalent to one per cent (1%) <br /> <br />- 8 - <br />
