<br />., <br /> <br />" . <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3 r; 2. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 30 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO, ENTITLED "ANIMALS, FOWL AND BEES", <br />BY MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR THE OWNER OR KEEPER OF ANY DOG TO PER- <br />MIT THE DOG TO RUN AT LARGE OR TO BE OFF THE PREMISES OF SAID <br />OWNER OR KEEPER UNLESS THE DOG IS ACCOMPANIED BY A PERSON AND IS <br />UNDER LEASH OR UNLESS THE DOG IS WITHIN A VEHICLE OR OTHERWISE <br />CONFINED; AND PROVIDING FOR THE IMPOUNDING, CARE, AND DISPOSITION <br />OF DOGS FOUND IN THE CITY IN VIOLATION THEREOF. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, <br />COLORADO : <br /> <br />Section L That the following sections of Chapter 30 of the Municipal <br />Code of the City of Louisville, Colorado, be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"30.8-5 - Dogs Impounded. The dog catcher or his assistants <br />may take up and cause to be impounded in a suitable place <br />designated by resolution of the City Council any dog found <br />running at large as defined in this Ordinance within the City <br />or any dog which does not have attached to its collar a tag <br />showing the dog is licensed for the current year, and may, <br />subject to the approval of the City Council, contract with a <br />private person or organization to operate a dog pound for and <br />on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />30.8-6 - Notice 12 Q~ of Dog. Upon any dog's being impounded, <br />a notice containing a description of the dog and stating that the <br />same is being held for lack of a license or running at large, <br />shall be posted at the City Hall and at the place designated by <br />the City Council for the impounding of the dogs, and if the owner <br />or custodian of such animal is known, such notice shall be served <br />upon the owner or cUlstodian or by leaving such notice at his place <br />of residence with a member of his family or with his landlord. <br /> <br />30.8-7 - Dispositio~~ ~ Unclaimed Dog. <br /> <br />(a) Redemption Fee - Any owner, possessor or keeper of a <br />dog desiring to redE!em said dog from said impoundment shall <br />pay to the City the sum of $3.00 as an impoundment fee together <br />with the sum of $'1. ~ for each day of impoundment for room <br />and board and any and all license and inoculation fees provided <br />for in this article. <br /> <br />~ (b) Disposal of Unclaimed Dogs - If the said dog has not <br />been claimed within four days from the date of impoundment, not <br />counting the first clay of impoundment, the dog may be delivered <br />to the Boulder, Colorado, Humane Society or said dog may be <br />destroyed in a humane manner by the Dog Warden or other persons <br />authorized to do so by the City Council. <br />
