<br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE PRACTICAL SAFEGUARDING OF PERSONS AND OF
<br />BUILDINGS AND THEIR CONTENTS, FROM HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE USE OF
<br />ELECTRICITY FOR LIGHT, HEAT, POWER, RADIO, SIGNALLING AND FOR OTHER
<br />PURPOSES, IN THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE
<br />THERETO, THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1971 EDITION, AS PUBLISHED BY
<br />THE NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES,
<br />PARTS AND SECTIONS OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO,
<br />IN CONFLICT OR INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION
<br />OF THE PROVISIONS OF SAID ELECTRICAL CODE; PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING
<br />IN RELATION THERETO; and DECLARING AN EMERGENCY THEREFOR.

<br />WHEREAS, The City of Louisville Council has determined that
<br />it is necessary and expedient that an electrical code for the City of
<br />Louisville, Colorado be adopted in order to conform to the latest
<br />standards of the industry, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the statutes of the State of Colorado provide for the
<br />adoption of such codes b~ reference, therefore,
<br />
<br />Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Louisville,
<br />
<br />Colorado:
<br />
<br />Section 1. Pursuant to the power and authority conferred by the
<br />laws of the State of Colorado, there is hereby adopted as the electrical
<br />code of the City of Louisville, by reference thereto, the National
<br />Electrical Code, 1971 Edition, as promulgated by the National Fire Protection
<br />Association, 60 'Batterymarch Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02110. This
<br />code contains provisions considered necessary to safeguard life, health,
<br />property and public welfare and covers the electric'conductors and
<br />equipment installed within or on public and private buildings and other
<br />premises, including yards, carnival and parking lots, and industrial
<br />substations; and also the conductors that connect the installation to
<br />a supply of electricity, and other outside conductors adjacent to the
<br />premi ses.

<br />Section ~. Any and all sections or parts of sections of any
<br />ordinances or parts of ordinances or of the Code of the City of Louisville
<br />as amended in conflict or inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed,
<br />provided however, that the repeal of any sections or parts of sections
<br />of the Code of the City of Louisville, Colorado as amended, or of any
<br />ordinances or parts of ordinances of the City of Louisville shall not
<br />revive any other section of said code, ordinance or ordinances heretofor
<br />repealed or superseded.
<br />
<br />Section 3. A public hearing on the adoption by reference thereto
<br />of the National Electrical Code of the National Fire Protection Association,
<br />1971 Edition, be and the same is hereby scheduled at City Hall, Louisville,
<br />Colorado, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on the 16th day of May, 1972, and that
<br />the City Clerk of the City of Louisville, be and she is hereby directed
<br />to publish notice of said public hearing in the manner and style and pursuant
<br />~ to the schedule for such publication prescribed in C.R.S. 139-34-3 (1963).

<br />Section 4. At least three (3) copies of the National Electrical
<br />Code of the National Fire Protection Association, 1971 Edition, all
<br />certified to be true copies, shall be on file in the office of the City
<br />
