<br />modified or amended by specific prov1S1ons of the primary Code. <br />The said Model Traffic Ordinance is a complete traffic code which <br />governs the method of operation and equipment of all motor vehicles <br />and regulates all traffic conditions within the City of Louisville. <br />Its purpose is to provide rules and regulations which are necessary <br />for the public health and safety and which shall at the <br />same time provide uniformity of application and interpretation with <br />the traffic regulations in other parts of the State. <br /> <br />Section 7. Penalty Provisions. The penalty provisions contained <br />in the "Municipal Code of the ci. ty- of Louisville are hereinafter set <br />forth in full: <br /> <br />"32.1 Required Obedience to Code. It shall be a, viola- <br />tion or-this Code for any person-to do any act which is <br />forbidden or declared to be unlawful, or to fail to do or <br />perform any act required, in this Code. <br /> <br />~32.2 Fines and Penalties. Any person who shall be con- <br />victed-or-a v101atTOn of this Code shall be fined in a sum <br />of not less than $1.00 nor more than $300.00, or imprisoned <br />for a term not exceeing 90 days, for each offense. Where <br />any violation is a continuing offense, each day that the viola- <br />tion continues shall be considered and held to be a separate <br />and distinct offense. (C.R.S. 1953, 139-32-1(79), 139-33-1) <br /> <br />"32.3 Failure To Pay Fine Imprisonment. If any defendant <br />shall neglect or refuse~ sat1sfy any f1ne 1mposed for a viola- <br />tion of this Code, he shall upon order of the police magis- <br />trate, be committed to the city jailor other place of con- <br />finement provided for that purpose until such judgment and costs <br />are fully satisfied; provided that no such imprisonment shall <br />exceed 90 days for anyone offense. (C.R.S. 1953, 139-84-14) <br /> <br />"32.4 Satisfaction of Fine By Imprisonment. Any person <br />imprisoned for the non-payment:ot a-fine snail be credited <br />for time served at the rate of $2.00 per day of 24 hours, <br />exclusive of board. <br /> <br />"32.5 Persons Confined May Be Required To Work. Any <br />person-committe'dtojail for anoIation or thIS Code may <br />be required to work for the City at such labor as may be <br />designated by the chief of police, within or without the <br />jailor other place provided for the imprisonment of such <br />offenders, not exceeding 10 hours for each working day. <br />(C.R.S. 1953, 139-84-14) <br /> <br />"32.6 Credit on Jail Sentence for Good Behavior.
