This practice has more or less ended because of the budgetary concerns. 1. The City has permitted private homeowners to mow a 10 foot strip along their own properties, but few have done so. d. Staff has asked for a cost estimate for a fire hazard and risk analysis which could be a component of a future Fire Management Plan. Staff has an interest in exploring the option of using prescribed fire as a management tool on Louisville Open Space. IV. Discussion: Open House a. The idea: Host an Open Space Open House to do a few things – roll out the geocaching, advertise the open space properties, recruit volunteers, make people aware of what open space tax does b. March 2012 is a potential date V. Discussion & Recommendation: Steel Ranch South, Preliminary Plat & PUD- Staff Comments a. The Staff has offered a list of comments for OSAB’s review. b. Rewriting points 1 & 4: “OSAB supports the concept of private land being converted to public land for the use of a trailhead for the Bullhead Gulch Open Space trail system and parking. The trailhead should be in the rural, open space style, with appropriate trail access, ADA compliance and a City standard portable toilet enclosure.” c. Amendment of point 7: “Parks & Recreation recommends parallel parking along the north side of Luke Street to provide adequate and/or overflow for access to the Bullhead Gulch Trailhead.” d.
