Louisville City Council Meeting
April 4, 2000
Page 6.

RESOLUTION NO. 20, SERIES 2000 - FINAL PUD DEVELOPMENT PLAN TO
AUTHORIZE MODIFICATION TO AND CONTINUED USE OF AN EXISTING
NONCONFORMING SIGN AT 816 MAIN STREET

Davidson called for Staff presentation.

Paul Wood, Planning Director stated that Pasquini's Pizzera, owned and operated by
Tony and Melinda Pasquini, have submitted an application for a Final PUD Development
Plan to authorize modification to and continued use of an existing nonconforming sign.
The property is located at 816 Main Street, and is the former location of Colacci's
restaurant. Wood stated that the applicant is requesting to leave the sign in place and
change only the name displayed on the sign to "Pasquini's." Wood noted that the
Historical Commission reviewed the application on March 8, 2000, and recommends
support of the request to modify and maintain the existing sign due to its historical
significance to the community.

Wood also noted that the Planning commission unanimously recommended approval
with two conditions: 1.) A revocable license agreement between the applicant and the
City is required for the projecting sign, and such agreement shall be executed prior to the
issuance of a building permit for the sign modification. 2.) The existing canvas canopy of
the main business entrance shall not be illuminated or be eligible for any signage. Wood
stated that the applicants verbally agreed to the conditions.

Davidson called for Application presentation.

Melinda Pasquini stated that she and her brother Tony purchased the property a few
months ago and considered themselves lucky to have located in Louisville. She stated
that the sign has been in place for fifty years and they feel that it is an important part of
Louisville's history and wish only to change the name on the sign.

Howard asked the applicant if the conditions recommended by Planning Commission
were acceptable. Ms. Pasquini stated that both conditions are acceptable.

Sisk supported the name change on the sign and welcomed Pasquini's Pizzeria to
Louisville. Brown also welcomed the Pasquini's Restaurant and family into the
Louisville business community.

MOTION: Howard moved that Council approve Resolution No. 20, Series 2000 - Final
PUD Development Plan to authorize modification to and continued use of an existing
nonconforming sign at 816 Main Street as amended, seconded by Sisk. All in favor.
