In reference to the second sentence of policy, "New <br />building design will respect the existing historic and architectural character of the <br />area," comment was received that the statement might inhibit the flexibility of <br />design. <br /> <br />· Relative to the ~ mile radius addressed in the principles, it was suggested a more <br />general statement such as walking distance be considered. <br /> <br />· Concern was voiced over the "shall" and "will" language used in the principles. <br /> <br />· Page 3-12, Principle LU-4 Policy: "The City will encourage the economic health <br />of existing shopping centers by leveraging public investment to stimulate private <br />redevelopment." The depth of the statement was questioned. The principle was <br />written to give a tangible representation on how the City could be planned out; <br />however, it may not apply to other areas of Louisville. <br /> <br />· Explanation was requested on Page 3-13, Principle LU-4 Policy: "The scale of <br />destination focused commercial centers should be designed to the appropriate <br />scale for the trade area which it intends to serve". To have a sense of scale in <br />relation to the location ofthe commercial area versus the immediate area it serves. <br />There was consensus that the policy should be re-examined. <br /> <br />· Page 3-39, Principle PRO-7: Senior Services. Comments were received to revise <br />the principle and put into another section of the document. There were also <br />comments that an area should be designated for senior housing alternatives, and <br />the description of senior housing should be better defined. <br /> <br />· Clarification was requested on how the 20-year build out of23,000 to 24,000 was <br />calculated. The response was 2,000 homes times 2.6 persons per household. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />Doug Grinbergs, 530 W. Sycamore Circle, Louisville, CO voiced his desire for a <br />citywide lighting ordinance for residential and governmental areas. He felt this should be <br />included in the planning process. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk asked Planning Director Wood to advise the public where they can review <br />copies of the draft plan documents. Wood stated the draft plan documents are located on <br />the City's Web Page, and the Louisville Public Library. City Staff can make available <br />the Draft Comprehensive Plan Map for members of the community. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested the draft plan documents also be made available at the Recreation <br />Center. <br /> <br />THE FRAMEWORK PLAN <br /> <br />4 <br />
