<br />Louisville City Council Meeting <br />February 1, 2005 <br />Page 3 of 10 <br /> <br />Recreation and Senior Services Director Keith Williams reported the Louisville Skate <br />Park Grand Opening is scheduled for Saturday, February 5,2005. Demonstrations will <br />begin at 9:45 a.m. with the ribbon cutting to take place at 10:00 a.m. He explained over <br />the past 10 years, over 60 youths and 20 adults have taken part in the development of this <br />new amenity to the City of Louisville. The Mayor and City Council were presented <br />invitations to the grand opening. Williams introduced Skateboarder Jason Mitchell, who <br />was the 2004 World Cup Gold Medalist in Slalom Course in Europe, and local <br />skateboarders: Drew Jones, Davis Haberkorn, Ben and Matt Heiserman. <br /> <br />Jason Mitchell thanked the Mayor and City Council for allowing the skaters to participate <br />in the planning process for the Skateboard Park. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk extended his thanks to Mitchell and all the members of the Skateboard <br />community for their assistance. He also thanked Council members VanPelt, Brown and <br />Marsella for their support for a skateboard park. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION - WEAR RED DAY <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk proclaimed Friday, February 4, 2005 as Wear Red Day in Louisville, <br />Colorado. Wear Red Day celebrates the extraordinary progress in women's heart health <br />and recognizes the need for more to be done to safeguard women's health for generations <br />to come. He presented the proclamation to Patti Gianassi, Director of Critical Care at <br />Avista Hospital. <br /> <br />Ms. Gianassi thanked the Mayor and City Council for proclaiming February 4,2005 as <br />Wear Red Day in Louisville, Colorado. She stated this is the third year for the Wear Red <br />Day campaign. She hoped that the campaign will receive more notoriety to publicize <br />women's heart health. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING/REQUEST FOR AN AMENDMENT TO A FINAL PUD <br />DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR CENTENNIAL PAVILIONS TO AUTHORIZE AN <br />EXISTING NON-CONFORMING SIGN <br /> <br />City Attorney Light requested the Council, by motion, formally include in the record of <br />the public hearing the following documents: All materials included in the City Council <br />packet; the zoning ordinance, the Commercial Development Guidelines; and any other <br />public records in the Planning Department files that are related to the application. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved that the documents outlined by the City Attorney be <br />included in the record, seconded by Council member Van Pelt. All in favor. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Planning Director Paul Wood explained the applicants; Matthew and Tamela Cox are <br />requesting authorization of an Amendment to the Centennial Pavilion Final PUD <br /> <br />3 <br />
