Louisville City Council Meeting
March 17, 2005
Page 4 of9

Mr. Pedersen stated the sign will not be lit during the re-leasing process, and it may be
appropriate for the next tenant to replace the existing sign with their own conforming
sign. Staff recommends Council accept a motion to withdraw the agenda item and take no
further action on the PUD Amendment.

COUNCIL COMMENT

Council member Brown asked for confirmation that the sign has been turned off.
Planning Director Wood confirmed the sign has been turned off.

Council member VanPelt asked about the limitation of monument signs. Planning
Director Wood explained he has met with several business owners relative to business
identification signage. Their proposal includes monument signs for tenant identification,
however nothing has been submitted. City Manager Simmons confirmed the City is
working with the businesses along McCaslin on signage in neighborhood areas.

Mayor Sisk stressed the importance of the LaMar's Donuts window signs being removed.

City Manager Simmons noted the City has incurred the expense of professional services
from 20120 Sign Communications. Those services included meeting with the former
business owner and designing a new business sign. Staff requested the costs for those
services be forwarded for payment.

MOTION: Council member Keany moved that Council withdraw the agenda item and
take no further action on the PUD Amendment, seconded by Council member Van Pelt.
All in favor.

APPROVAL OF GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE - LOUISVILLE PUBLIC
LIBRARY PROJECT

Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation.

Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd reported on March 11, Adolfson & Peterson, the
Construction & General Contractor for the library project, received price estimates from
subcontractors for the construction of the library building. Those prices were evaluated
by A & P, Humphries Poli and Paul Wember and discussed with the City Staff during the
week. The proposed Guaranteed Maximum Price is $7,611,665. The estimate is based on
the 100% Design Development documents and will be calculated again when the
construction drawings are 100% complete, which is scheduled to be at the end of May.

The construction cost includes $25,000 to be spent on a bracing system for the north side
of the building. The tie-back system will be used on the other three sides of the building
to allow the foundation on the north side to be constructed without encroaching onto the
neighbors' property, eliminating the need for a temporary construction easement with the
property owners.

4
