<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />July 19, 2005 <br />Page 7 of 9 <br /> <br />through a resolution, which would include an eight year period, and a sunset <br />period. The use tax resolution would be before Council on August 2,2005. He <br />asked if Council preferred the designation of the funds be done by a separate <br />resolution or ordinance and whether it should be a part of the ballot question. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk suggested that Council identify by resolution what the funds would be <br />used for. The designation would also be included in the ballot question. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light stated that the resolution can designate where the funds will <br />be spent and not be a part of the ballot title. There was Council consensus. <br /> <br />UPDATE - LIBRARY PROJECT <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd updated Council on the library project. The <br />concrete is being poured for the garage footers and walls, and will continue for <br />several weeks. A new project superintendent, Denny Pehrson will begin work <br />the end of July and will work with the current superintendent for 2-3 weeks during <br />a transitional period. Mr. Pehrson comes very highly recommended and has <br />previously worked on the Smoky Hill Library project. The project is on schedule <br />for critical path items. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk reported on his discussions with local merchants about the <br />inadequate signage for downtown parking. He requested signage that indicates <br />where public parking is available. Deputy City Manager Boyd would meet with <br />Public Works Director Phare relative to the downtown signage. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />No items to report. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Boyd reported on the following capital projects: Davidson <br />Mesa Trails; Skate Park Lighting; and Tennis Court resurfacing. <br /> <br />Public Works Director reported on the County Road Reconstruction Project. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons reported on the following: <br /> <br />. The Skate Board Park project discussion and negotiations. <br />. Comcast Cable Franchise renewal process and the City's requested <br />items. The franchise agreement has been transmitted to Comcast Cable <br />Television for their review. <br />. No agenda items for discussion for the July 26, Study Session. There was <br />Council consensus that the July 26 Study Session should be cancelled. <br />
