City Council Special Meeting Minutes October 11 , 2005 Page 8 of 8 Library Director Anne Mojo stated the Library staff is already short four positions. She noted the Lodging Tax was earmarked for Library and Recreation Facility operations. Recreation and Senior Services Director Keith Williams noted the Police Department and Public Works crews assist at recreation center sponsored events and should be compensated through the recreation budget. COUNCIL DIRECTION There was Council consensus the gas & electric budget should be increased to 10%. There was discussion relative to the staffing of the library and the library technology fund. Council would consider budget cuts at the October 18, 2005 meeting. Staff was asked to present different scenarios for budget cuts. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT City Manager Simmons reported on the following: · Goodhue Ditch Meeting, where ditch improvement were discussed. · Future meeting with the Town of Superior relative to library funding. · Highway 42 Revitalization Committee Meeting. · Revitalization Commission Meeting - October 13. COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS Mayor Sisk reminded Council of a meeting with the School District Board. He reported on a letter received from FEMA relative to flood insurance and stated some homeowners may receive a rebate on their insurance premiums. He requested discussion on the McCaslin Interchange at the October 18, Council meeting. ADJOURN Council member Brown moved for adjournment. Mayor Sisk seconded the motion.
