WHEREAS, City Council has reviewed the recommendation of the Louisville Planning <br /> Commission and desires to amend the LMC as provided in this ordinance; and <br /> WHEREAS, City Council has provided notice of a public hearing on said ordinance by <br /> publication as provided by law and held a public hearing as provided in said notice; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> Section 1. Section 17.08.590 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to read <br /> as follows (words to be deleted are shown in strikeout; words to be added are underlined): <br /> Sec. 17.08.590. Vision clearance area. <br /> Vision clearance area means a triangular area on a lot at the intersection of two streets or <br /> a street and a railroad, a street and an alley, or a street and a recreational trail, two sides <br /> of which are let curb lines measured from the corner intersection of the let curb lines to a <br /> distance specified in the regulations. The third side of the triangle is a line across the <br /> corner of the lot joining the ends of the other two sides. Where the let curb lines and <br /> intersections have rounded corners, the let curb lines will be extended in a straight line to <br /> a point of intersection. For intersections of a street and an alley or a street and a <br /> recreational trail, the non-street curb line shall be, respectively, the alley right-of-way line <br /> and the edge of the recreational trail. The vision clearance area contains no plantings, <br /> walls, structures, or temporary or permanent obstructions exceeding 2'/2 feet in height <br /> measured from the top of the curb or existing grade unless such structures or obstructions <br /> are more than 80 percent open. <br /> Section 2. Section 17.16.100 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to read <br /> as follows (words to be deleted are shown in st ikeout; words to be added are underlined): <br /> Sec. 17.16.100. Vision clearance areas. <br /> A. A vision clearance area shall contain no plantings, walls, structures or temporary <br /> or permanent obstructions exceeding 2'/2 feet in height, measured from the top of <br /> the curb or existing grade, unless such structure or obstructions are more than 80 <br /> percent open. <br /> B. The minimum distance establishing the size of the vision clearance area shall be <br /> 30 feet measured from the curb lines of the streets, except that at intersections <br /> including an alley, the minimum distance shall be 15 feet measured from the curb <br /> lines of the street and right-of-way lines of the alley. <br /> C. Vision clearance areas shall not be required at street intersections not including an <br /> alley in the area designated as the central business district, except with respect to <br /> fences and structures similar to fences.
