a. Sandy Stewart recommended that we have a documented
maintenance plan in place and that it should be part of the
Improvement Plan Phase 1. We had an extended discussion on the
need / desire for a maintenance plan. Eric Jensen said that if the
Board thought it would be helpful to have one he was not opposed
BUT he said the USGA developed maintenance plans are designed
to have “tournament conditions” every week. Sandy Stewart
withdrew his suggestion of adding the Derf Soller USGA
recommendation for a maintenance plan in our Improvement plan
due to the fact that Joe Stevens thought it was a WGP operational
expense and should not be part of the Improvement Plan capital
needs.
b. Eric Jensen’s personal opinion on the GPS map and irrigational
coverage plan expense is that he would take that money and
renovate a bunker.
c. Kevin Norby suggested to the board to keep the synergy between
the tees and the cart path in consideration when considering re-
phasing items.
d. We do not want to have Coal Creek Golf Course to have a
reputation of always being under construction.
e. The board was unified in the decision to add trees in each of the
phases. Joe Stevens is hoping to remove and replace more trees
in phase 1 to take advantage of better costs and eliminate the
safety issues created by some of the trees.
Item VII –Board recommendation to City Council draft ideas –
1. The board along with Kevin Norby amended the Phases– adding the
replacement of trees to each of the phases.
a. Phase One – Removal and addition of new trees, GPS mapping,
Coverage map, booster pump repair, 300 new irrigation heads.
b. Phase Two – Complete selected tree removal and add new trees,
first hole bunker reconstruction and cart path realignment. Correct
drainage problems on 8 holes and new tees on 3 holes.
c. Phase Three – Bunker renovation, re-route cart path on 18, re-
grade and level tees on 3 holes, reconstruct practice area and
range tee, complete club house renovation.
d. Phase Four – Irrigation system replacement and plant new trees.
e. Phase Five – Plant new trees, Cart path repair and conversion of
turf to low maintenance areas.

··
Parks and Recreation Department 749 Main Street Louisville, CO 80027
·
(303) 335-4735 FAX (303) 335-4738
www.louisvilleco.gov
Parks Recreation Senior Services O
Golf
