PAGE FOUR
SUBJECT: UPDATE /DISCUSSION - COMPREHENSIVE PLAN 2012 REVIEW
DATE: DECEMBER 13, 2011
• Quality Control / Consistency Review /Web- documentation — Staff believes that a third party
quality control contractor would be valuable if hired to review and evaluate the Draft and Final
Comprehensive Plan Update for policy alignment and State of Colorado regulation consistency.
Staff also would task this contractor with assisting the City in converting the Comprehensive
Plan into an interactive web - document.
FISCAL IMPACT
None at this time. The 2012 Budget includes $150,000 for professional consulting services to
assist staff in updating the Comprehensive Plan. There will also be significant staff time plus
materials costs associated with this effort.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff is seeking discussion on the topics discussed above. Based on that dialogue, Planning
Staff will proceed in finalizing a scope of work, schedule and Request for Proposals (RFP)
which will initiate the 2012 Comprehensive plan Update.
ATTACHMENTS:
October 25th Council Communication and associated PowerPoint Presentation
66
