Business Retention & Development Committee
Meeting Minutes
February 6, 2012
Heather Balser said the survey draft will be brought to city council on February 28,
2012 and the direction for the survey will be resolved.
FastTracks Update
6.
Heather Balser explained that there were three options given. The City of
Louisville is in support of option two and reasons for this were explained in The
City Manager’s Weekly report on February 10, 2012. There was further discussion
of why option three was not chosen.
Troy Russ further clarified that FastTracks does not relate to the Gateway Highway
42 project until RTD makes a decision.
On February 29, 2012 Phil Washington will present the options to city council and
the public at large in the city council chambers.
Vision Statement
7.
Troy Russ discussed the Comp Plan saying it will be a nine month technical
process and a two to three month adoption process. The February 13, 2012 Study
Session will have a discussion to confirm the scope. The current vision statement
is unclear, so the boards and commissions are being asked to come up with core
values and what the statement is missing so that the staff can better implement the
vision statement.
DISCUSSION ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING TO BE HELD ON MONDAY, MARCH 12, 2012 –
Michael Menaker requested a debriefing from Bonnie Star as it will be her last meeting.
Wayfinding discussion
Comp Plan Core values discussion
Because of the full agenda, it was suggested to move Audrey DeBarros presentation of
36 Commuting Solutions to the April 9th meeting. If she is unable to come in April, she
will present at the March 12th meeting.
COMISSIONERS’ COMMENTS –
Carlos Hernandez shared details of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Holiday Hangover
Event. The event was held at Crispin Porter + Bogusky and their Disruptive Thinker Transport
transit system was discussed.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:02 AM.
ADJOURN –
