Muckle also stated her interest in <br />assisting with GIS. <br />The HPC thanked her for her information. <br />Pre-filing Conference–1201 Lafarge Avenue <br />McCartney introduced the owner of 1201 Lafarge Avenue, Bryan Armstrong, and his engineer <br />Matt Berry, and gave a background of their request. <br />Armstrongexplained how they have purchased 1201 Lafarge Avenue and are hoping to <br />expand the house to the south (towards Short Street) for additional livable space.The intent <br />would be to preserve the look and feel of the structure. The addition would bea two story <br />addition. <br />Armstrong stated the existing front porch is not original to the house. <br />Armstrong added they are not interested in Landmarkingbut wanted to have a dialogue with <br />the HPC as to thoughts and concerns regarding the structure. <br />Koertje asked when the porch was added. <br />Berry stated the porch is relatively new –maybe the last 20 years. All of the windows on the <br />house have been removed and replaced, the siding is new and the exposed rafters at the facia <br />were also added. <br />Speier asked if they would sod the property to remove the huge concrete pad. <br />Armstrong answered in the affirmative. <br />McCartney reviewedthe demolition process. <br />Lewis stated the architectural integrity is very strong and believes the house could be <br />landmarked. She added a landmark could add value to the home. <br />McCartney reviewedthe Landmarkingprocess. <br />The HPC discussed further benefits of Landmarking. <br />Stewart added that even a landmarked structure could have an addition placed on it. He then <br />asked if there could be sensitiveadditions to save most of the house. <br />Berry stated the house is located on the northern property line so the south side of the house <br />(street facing) is the only area for an addition. <br />Armstrong thanked the HPC for their feedback. <br />Public Hearing –Landmark –612 Grant Avenue <br />
