<br />RESOLUTION NO. 73 <br />SERIES 1996 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION LEVYING GENERAL PROPERTY TAXES FOR THE YEAR <br />1996, TO HELP DEFRAY THE COSTS OF GOVERNMENT FOR THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO, FOR THE 1997 BUDGET YEAR <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Louisville has adopted the annual <br />budget for the 1997 budget year in accordance with the Local Government Budget Law, <br />on December 3, 1996 and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the amount of money necessary to balance the budget for general <br />operating purposes from property tax revenue is $1,170,304, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 1996 valuation for assessment for the City of Louisville as <br />certified by the County Assessor is $227,642,840, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the various property tax revenue limitations imposed on the City <br />including the limitations of the Amendment ("Amendment One") adding Article X, <br />Section 20 to the Colorado Constitution, approved by the voters on November 3, 1992, <br />have been calculated using the information currently available to the City and a tax of <br />5.246 mills complies with said limitations; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That for the purpose of meeting all general operating expenses of the City <br />of Louisville during the 1997 budget year, there is hereby levied a tax of 5.246 mills <br />upon each dollar of the total valuation for assessment of all taxable property within the <br />City for the year 1996. <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
