A museum advisory board: A museum 501c3 fundraising board: <br />Could conceivably still be called the Could decide what the organization should <br />Historical Commission, or perhaps the officially have its name changed to; <br />Museum Advisory Board, as the City reasonable options might include “Friends <br />Council prefers of the Louisville Historical Museum” or “The <br />Louisville Historical Museum Foundation.” <br />The current name for the membership, “the <br />Louisville Historical Society,” could be <br />retired from use as it is not an official <br />organization and causes some confusion. <br />Would be part of the City organization Would be a private organization whose <br />mission would be to benefit the Museum <br />Would have members appointed by City Would be able to decide how many board <br />Councilmembers to have, and decide who are the <br />board members <br />Could conceivably have a fewer number of Could draw on such people as members of <br />members than the current range of between the Chamber of Commerce, DBA, and <br />9 and 15, if City Council desires Historic Preservation Commission, or other <br />people involved in the community, to be <br />board members instead of having the <br />identical membership as the advisory board <br />Would be an advisory board for City Council Would raise funds to support the Museum <br />and would communicate with City Council, by taking in money from paid memberships <br />such as at the annual study sessions (as and sponsorships, sales of books and <br />the Historical Commission does now) DVDs at the Museum, monetary donations, <br />and fundraising events (as the Historical <br />Commission does now) <br /> <br />
