INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR K-12 CAMPUS <br />IN THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO <br />THIS AGREEMENT (lie "Ag eement") is made and entered into <br />this 0 4t day of ' , 1996, by and between the <br />BOULDER VALLEY SCHOOLI!IISTRICT NO. RE-2, a Colorado school <br />district ("School District"), and the CITY OF LOUISVILLE, <br />COLORADO, a Colorado statutory city ("City"). <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the School District has <br />determined that, in order to accommodate the education needs <br />created by new residential development in and around the City, <br />the School District must expand its educational facilities by <br />constructing K-12 facilities to serve school -age children of the <br />School District in and around the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the acquisition, improvement and expansion of the <br />School District's K-12 facilities within the boundaries of the <br />City will benefit the citizens of the City and their school -age <br />children, and will promote the education, public health, safety, <br />welfare, and economic well-being of said citizens and children; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, existing K-8 educational facilities within the City <br />are overcrowded and there currently is no high school within the <br />boundaries of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, Centaurus High School, which currently is attended <br />by high school -age students of the City, is overcrowded; and <br />WHEREAS, the School District has purchased land adjacent to <br />the boundaries of the City and the School District desires to <br />annex the land to the City and construct K-12 facilities on said <br />land;. and <br />WHEREAS, certain offsite public improvements are necessary <br />to serve the K-12 facilities and other public needs within the <br />City and the City Council of the City believes it is in the best <br />interest of the City to assist in providing those facilities, to <br />serve the citizens and school -age children of the City. <br />AGREEMENT <br />NOW, THEREFORE, for good and valuable consideration the <br />receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, the <br />parties hereto agree as follows: <br />June 27, 1996 <br />BVSD\GEN\BVSD2.RAE <br />
