Louisville City Council Meeting <br />December 5, 2000 <br />Page 2. <br /> <br />Approval of Bills <br />Approval of Minutes (11/08/00 & 11/21/00) <br />Approval of Professional Services Agreement with Merrick & Company <br />for Aerial Photography and Mapping <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Ashford Perry, 1519 Ford Court, Louisville, CO, reported to Council on Falun Gong <br />Seminars to be held on December 9th and December 17th, 2000 in Boulder. Perry <br />explained that Falun Gong is a powerful practice for cultivating human mind, body and <br />spirit, originating in 1992 in China. He noted that the seminar is free-of-charge and <br />invited Louisville citizens to attend. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mayer reported on an article in the Colorado Municipality magazine about the Colorado <br />Springs utility system, which is an under-grounding project. He noted that the project <br />cost was 16 million dollars and ran 3.5 miles of 115KB cable through 13.5 miles of city <br />streets. He asked Staff to investigate the details of this project. <br /> <br />Mayer also reported that a section of sidewalk on GrOve Court and Kennedy, owned by <br />the Homeowner's Association, and continually covered with ice in the winter. He asked <br />Staff to contact the Homeowner's Association and discuss maintenance of the sidewalk, <br />which is heavily used by the public. <br /> <br />Sisk reported on the Annual Parade of Lights on Friday, December 1, 2000. He stated <br />that there were a number of children and merchants participating in the festivities and the <br />event brought a number of people down town. He also noted that Council budgeted <br />money to assist in the event and felt that it was worthy project. He stated that it was good <br />to see the citizens involved and commended Council for their contributions. <br /> <br />Sisk also reported on the dedication of the Sunnyside housing project and commended <br />the efforts of Dianne Shanks. He noted that the floors were recycled from Lowry Air <br />Force Base. He stated that it illustrated how the community works together and takes <br />pride in worthy projects. He stated that it is a wonderful addition to the community and <br />one that the City can also take pride in. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
