<br />RESOLUTION NO. 14, SERIES 1996 <br /> <br />A Resolution Supporting Senate Bill 96-014, Which Would Allow Statutory Cities to Enact <br />a Lodgers' Tax. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Senate Bill 96-014 which would allow statutory cities to enact a Lodgers' Tax, has <br />been introduced in the Colorado General Assembly ; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, S.B. 96-014 has been referred to the Senate Finance Committee; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, many counties and home rule cities in Colorado currently levy a Lodgers' Tax on <br />hotel room rentals; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under the Colorado Constitution, a Lodgers' Tax could not be implemented unless <br />specifically approved by the voters in each statutory city; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the passage ofS.B. 96-014 would allow Louisville voters to consider the possibility <br />of enacting a Lodgers' Tax; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the construction of302 new hotel rooms in the City of Louisville has been approved <br />as of January 1, 1996. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved, the City Council of the City of Louisville, Colorado, does <br />hereby support S.B. 96-104 and encourages Members of the Colorado General Assembly to <br />support its passage. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of January, 1996. <br /> <br />~ =:>d-~ <br /> <br />Mayor Tom Davidson <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />Dave Clabots, City Clerk <br />
